Just discovered my food obsessions after she wrote a nice review of Little Nest (baguette critique duly noted). Photographer Joey Armstrong takes such lovely photos and I had to share these. I am still a little self conscious about wandering around the cafe with a camera, yet I see things I want to share so often. I appreciate it when someone else does it for me. meanwhile I am working up the confidence to start snapping away.

Nice photo from a nice review. This is a shot that has been taken many times but I like the light and energy captured. Oh and they captured Destroyer and I'm a fan.

Amy Borrell of all the mountains was a guest curator at etsy recently. She featured these cute little egg hats. Felt has already failed the Little Nest endurance test, but wouldn't these be perfect with the eggs and soldiers?

Wool fails too. And like most things from donnahay it looks pretty but wouldn't really work.

Shouldn't even tell you this is gluten free, because if you are not that way inclined, you may not try it. It's so close to durum wheat pasta, you might not even notice. If you are that way inclined, this is a godsend! check it out here

It was my 10th wedding anniversary on Sunday so I decided to sit down and enjoy Mark's mushroom dinner with P. Had the odd experience of having someone else serve me the sweets that I had made earlier. Looking forward to the next dinner in January.

These dudes hang out in my kitchen, moustachioed all year round. Fridge-magnet-man get's a little scattered some times but raisin-dispenser-man is so hard core, twist his nose and he'll spit raisins at you.

Another kit, not yet available but in the works from here . My mum used to make dolls and clothes out of Cloth Kits, they were popular in England in the 70s. Now I have a soft spot for kits like this. You can feel crafty when all you had to do was sew two panels together!

People often ask me about this bird. He was a gift from my husband P. I came in to bake one morning and looked up and P had painted this beautiful bird on the wall. Creating this space was a collaboration between us and alot of fun. Sometimes this cafe feels like a beast that needs to be continuously fed. A very demanding third child. But like our first two kids, I know P is as interested in the minutai as I am and he's always got my back.Without him there would be no little nest and no bird.
